Dock Walk at the 2016 Vendee Globe

The morning before the start of the 2016/17 Vendee Globe Race I had the opportunity to walk the dock with Mr. Clean. He is also known as Alan Block from the famed Sailing Anarchy sailing media powerhouse and was in Les Sables d'Olonne to report on Vendee start, kicking off his European tour.

We had a great chat about all the boats, the sailors, the competition and my take on who's to be reckoned with. We get in to some serious discussions about the different generation of boats, their potential, and the experience of the skippers. We all have our opinions of the Foiling vs. Non-Foiling boats, and this race will certainly prove if the technology and investment in foil design pays off.
